Day 1: Denpasar – Labuan Bajo (L,D)
Our purpose today is to see the Komodo Dragon. This largest living lizard on earth lives on 3 islands Rinca, Padar & Komodo and some parts of West Flores. Its length can go up to 3 meters with weight of up to 90 kilo. After arrival in Labuan Bajo transfer to the harbour. Here boarding to cross to less famous Rinca island. Lunch on board. After 2 hour sailing we reach Loh Buaya. Led by a local ranger 2 hour soft trekking through forest and savanna. Komodo Dragons are often spotted on the way. From the highest point on this hike a beautiful panorama of the surrounding island. Dinner and overnight* on Board.
Day 2: Komodo Island & Pink Beach – Labuan Bajo (B,L) Early breakfast on board and departure for Komodo island. This trip over blue tropical waters and past hundreds of small island will take approximately 3 hours until Pink Beach . Here lunch and time to discover the splendid underwater world of these rich waters (snorkels and fins are provided). On to visit Komodo island and make a walk (1 hour) with a local ranger in search of the Komodo dragons. During your visit also wild buffalo, deer, pigs and various species of tropical birds like the Cockatoo can be seen. Return to Labuan Bajo will take around 4 hours. Upon arrival at the harbour transfer to Puri Sari Hotel in Labuan Bajo for overnight.
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Ruteng (B) 137 KM
Morning to Ruteng. At Melo the Whip fighting Dance (Tari Caci) performance famous for the Manggarai tribe. Continue and en route visit the and spiderweb ricefields at Cancar. In the afternoon visit the old centre Ruteng Puu and Liang Bua: The cave where recently the bones of the short Homo Floresiensis (the hobbit) have been excavated by scientists. Overnight at Santa Maria or Dahlia Hotel
Day 4: Ruteng – Bajawa (B) 133 KM
In the morning depart for Bajawa. On the way visit Lake Rana Mese. Here you can walk around the lake in about one hour. In the afternoon visit to the traditional village Wogo. Rest of the day at leisure or visit the local market in this hill village. Overnight Silverin or Bintang Wisata or Sanian Hotel – Bajawa.
Day 5: Bajawa – Riung (B) 72 KM
In the morning visit Bena. Besides still in tact, with the megalith stones besides the old houses, this village has beautiful location with views of Mount Inerie. In the afternoon depart for Riung. En route stop at Naru and a visit to Soa hotspring. Here you can take a bath if you like. Overnight at Pondok SVD.
Day 6: Riung – 17 Islands (B,L)
Today a boat trip to the National Park 17 islands near Riung. Here a great variety of fish and coral can be seen. Snorkels equipment are included in the tour. But the first stop is at the hundreds of Flying Foxes that hang in the mangrove forests near the coast. Lunch at one of the remote islands. On return to Riung rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at Pondok SVD
Day 7: Riung – Moni (B) 180 KM
After breakfast depart for Moni. The first part of the road is still in bad shape. Crossing from the North coast (Flores Sea) to the South coast (Savu Sea) in an hour. At Pengga Jawa the beach is filled with green stones. And at Ende visit Soekarno’s House Lunch will provide in Ende Local Restaurant after Lunch Continue through beautiful landscape to Moni. Overnight at Kelimutu EcoLodge.before, if still have time will visit Saga Traditional Village
Day 8: Moni – Mt. Kelimutu – Maumere (B) +/- 150 KM
Early morning wake up call for departure to the Kelimutu volcano. A short walk (30 minutes) will take you to the look out point to wait for the sunrise. Kelimutu means Mountain of the Spirits. Known for its famous 3 colour lakes: Turquoise, Brown and Black. It’s the dissolved minerals that give the different colours. Breakfast after return to the hotel. En route to Maumere stops at At Paga Beach a moment to relax and if you like you can swim here. Sikka is known for is old church from 1899 and Ikat which is enthusiastically sold by the local people. Ledalero Museum. In this small museum you will see a collection of woven Ikats and precious stones. Wuring in Maumere is a Fishing Village on stilts. Overnight at Wailiti , Sea World Club or Budi Sun Hotel.
Day 9: Maumere (B)
At leisure until transfer out to the airport

* Note: overnight on board is very simple: mattresses with sheets under a covered deck. Mosquito net is provided. Toilet is simple at the rear end of the boat.
